Force Measurement
Imada digital force gauges are highly accurate instruments that provide the precise force measurement required in quality testing that determines strength and/or functionality of a part or product. Digital gauges can be used for destructive or non-destructive force measurement applications and check both compression and tension (push or pull) forces. Industries including the manufacturing, automotive and aerospace sectors depend on these to enhance their quality control processes. The extremely accurate and detailed information they provide are essential for ensuring performance standards are met and meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
The high sampling rate of Imada digital gauges enables them to capture the peak force of destructive tests which occurs in milliseconds. Imada digital force gauges also feature selectable units: lbf, kgf and N and easy-to-program high/low setpoints for Go/No Go testing.
Key Features and Benefits
These gauges offer a better force measurement solution compared to other tools and techniques, thanks to the many features they include. These include digital readouts to make checking measurements easier and more accurate, the ability to select the units of measurement for different applications, and capabilities for logging the data it collects.
With these functions, a digital force gauge offers better accuracy and efficiency than using a mechanical force gauge and collecting data by hand. This means operators and technicians can perform their tasks faster and with better overall results. This is why these instruments are widely used across multiple industries.
Digital Force Gauges – Ranges
Imada low capacity digital force gauges measure ranges up to 220 lbf with an accuracy of ±0.2% F.S., high capacity digital force gauges measure up to 1,100 lbf also with an accuracy of ±0.2% F.S and digital force gauges with remote sensors measure up to 4,400 lbf with an accuracy of ±0.5% F.S.
Force Data Acquisition
Imada digital force gauges capture peak force data and output data for collection by optional data acquisition software in USB, RS232, Digimatic and analog formats. Our high-performance force gauges also capture continuous force data and automatically generate a force profile graph with statistics.
Calibration and Maintenance of Digital Force Gauges
A precision measuring instrument like a digital force gauge needs to be calibrated and maintained on a regular basis to ensure it continues to provide accurate readings with consistency. Calibration involves applying forces to the gauge using a reference standard such as a weight. If any discrepancies are detected, the user adjust the device to be within tolerance.
Although these sensors are designed to be rugged enough to survive heavy use in the field, it’s also important to follow guidelines for proper maintenance to keep them in good working order. This means storing them properly in their provided cases, ensuring they are kept clean and periodically inspecting them for signs of damage or wear. This is critical for ensuring the continued functionality of the test instrument.
Attachments
The force gauge kits include a selection of standard compression and tension attachments. Special attachments are available to grip different types of test samples for special applied force testing applications such as peel, puncture or friction tests. High capacity attachments are also available.
Imada’s lineup of digital force gauges provide users with exceptional levels of accuracy and reliability in a wide range of applications and environments. Compared to a standard mechanical force meter, these deliver greater functionality and convenience, making them indispensable for quality control.
