The FSA-K2 Force/Displacement Testers are complete test systems which can be configured for a number of applications requiring both force and displacement measurement. These integrated test systems combine the capabilities of MX2 series test stands with FA sensor and ZTA series gauges. The FSA-K2 series features a high speed distance meter. In conjunction with the force gauge, this tester can output up to 2,000 data per second. With the auto start displacement feature, the gauge will only record displacement after a certain force value has been reached.
The tester features a number of different configurable test parameters. Some parameters include: digital speed set for start, test and return speeds, test force values (high/low setpoints), force holding duration, auto displacement start at certain force, number of cycles
The FSA-K2 features 3 operating modes: Manual mode, Jog mode and Cycle mode. Manual mode allows manual control of the carriage at a set speed. Jog mode allows the user to use the program dial to move the gauge very small increments (depends on model). Cycle mode allows the user to easily setup cycle tests.
Force Control Operation
Force controlled non-destructive tests are also easy to setup and program. The FSA-K2 also has Conditional Overload Prevention. Force control allows users to program the test stand to move until a certain force value is reached. For more information see the force control tab below.

Maintain Force Between High/Low Setpoints
Initial cross head speed is controlled by the start speed setting. Force control activates when applied force exceeds the low setpoint (and below the high setpoint) on the ZT series force gauge. The cross head maintains force between the low and high setpoint for the specified hold time, and then returns to the start position.
Increase Force to High Setpoint and Stop
Initial cross head speed is controlled by the start speed setting. When the applied force reaches the low set point of the ZT series force gauge, the test stand engages the measuring speed setting. The gauge stops when the applied force reaches the high set point on the ZT series force gauge. Ideal for non-destructive or creep testing. The cycle is repeated until the counter limit is reached.
